Jean-Louis and his wife Agnès took over from his parents and grandparents in 2011 - in their family domaine in the quiet village of Savigny en Veron in the Loire. Their three boys look set to continue the family tradition and it is for them that Jean-Louis and Agnes continue to preserve and protect their 75 year old vines while continually developing and improving their winemaking techniques in a combination of utterly traditional practices with modern innovation. No chemicals are used on the vines and the whole vineyard is HVE certified. (High Environmental Value). Cabernet Franc thrives in the Loire's cooler climate without sacrificing fruit flavors. Vines that are 75 years old produce lower yields, yet the resulting fruit exhibits a depth and concentration that is rare for many Loire reds. The Page family avoids using chemicals on their vines, focusing instead on enhancing and preserving their terroir for future generations. Their sons are preparing to join the family vineyard, with two already pursuing studies and careers in viticulture agronomy. The wine benefits from an extended maceration and spends a full year in tanks prior to bottling, all without the influence of oak.
Deep ruby colour with an expressive, violet, prune and black cherry nose. Powerful concentration of red wild berries and fresh walnuts on the palate. Elegant and smooth finish with more of those ripe red fruits.
