Closely related to Vacherin Mont d’Or, this small cheese is designed to be eaten from the box. Made near the village of Cleron, high in the mountains of Franche-Comte, it is traditionally made at the end of the milking season, when the limited amount of milk is rich in fat and protein.

Cados is a soft cheese from the north of France. It has been ripened with Calvados, which is a strong French apple liquor. The white bloomy rind is covered with breadcrumbs, giving it a golden outer coat. It has a strong, creamy flavour with notes of apples from the Calvados.

Ingredients:

Camembert made from raw cow's milk, salt, animal rennet, ferment (milk), breadcrumbs (gluten) 2%, calvados 1.2%.
