Description:

Between Loire and Vilaine in the south of Brittany, the salt basin of the Guérande covers almost 2000 hectares of salt marsh. Prior to the 9th century, the creation of the Guérande salt marshes spanned several centuries. The fleur du sel appears during the first stages of the formation of the salt the fine and light salt crystals float in patches on the surface of the water.
