Roquefort is made from the milk of sheep that graze on the diverse grasses and wildflowers that grow on the™ limestone plateaus found in the Aveyron Department - France. The cheese is ripened in the natural damp and airy caves found under the village of Roquefort-sur-Soulzon. Vieux Berger is the of smallest of seven producers of this style of cheese. Their version of this cheese is remarkably creamy and piquant.Allegedly one of the world’s oldest cheeses, still made in those wonderful limestone caves in the traditional way.  This cheese is a blue cheese lover’s dream! Its powerful yet refined flavour coupled with that melt in the mouth texture making it truly irresistible!  Couple with a heady red and nirvana is reached.Roquefort is a popular French cheese, reported to be a favourite of Emperor Charlemagne. In France, it is called the 'cheese of kings and popes'. This cheese is protected by AOC guidelines. Roquefort cheese is moist and breaks into little pieces easily. Genuine Roquefort is rich, creamy and sharp, tangy, salty in flavour. It is aged for 5 months. It is also mostly used in salads and dressings.
